Self care is so important to your wellbeing, and is something that I often talk about with clients. For many people, it can look like going for a walk.... having a coffee with friends.... or simply just sitting down and being a little bit creative in your own way.
In another life, I was always creative and making cards and paper projects. My hobby turned into a full time job, but spending times doing some crafting was always the thing that would calm me down, chill me out and feel that even though I had spent time for myself, I had something to show at the end of it.
The pleasure of giving the gift of a handmade 'something' to someone made me happy, and is something that I really need to get back to doing.
Through my life, I have sketched, drawn, painted, crafted, sewed and knitted - did allsorts of creative things and I can definately say being part of the Creative Counselling Community is something I adore!
